Synopsis:
“Monterrain’t” is the development bible for a 2D adventure-dramedy animated series targeting an audience of 7-11 years old. The story is set in an alternative Monterrey, Mexico valley, where the mushroom village faces a terrible drought.
The crisis is instigated by a flock of obsessive turkeys, led by a pretentious enemy, who seeks to seize the scarce remaining water.
The series follows the unexpected partnership between Baffy, a naive and sheltered raven, and Millie, a hyperactive mushroom girl. Together with Millie’s older sister Leura, they embark on a quest to protect their town’s most valuable resource, the water, learning the importance of community and environmental care.
My Contribution
I was responsible for developing the overall story arc and the central conflict. Specifically, the concept of the town-wide drought was inspired by and developed from the real-life water crisis in Monterrey, Mexico.
Co-Creator Zahira
